Corn Starch & Latex Protein

It is really unfortunate that the corn starch used in conventional examination gloves has been so demonized by its tenuous link to latex protein allergy that I fear its future is bleak in this application. Corn starch is a marvellous material which used in gloves affords ease of donning, reduced tearing, dry comfort and in some aspects it is actually good for the skin. One of its mains strengths is now its debilitating weakness in that if there are residual extractable proteins on the glove surface it would tend to be absorbed into the corn starch and act as a transport agent.
